well you can add evercool to the list of leaches , as ive seen evercools sold through TJM that are an exact copy of the waeco but cheaper .maybe that explains the drop in waeco's prices lately .

looks exactly like a 50 ltr except the lid opens over the end (waeco opens to left or right of the long side, control panel is different but the plugs looks similar. cheers samo
had an 03 gx 120 with some gear now got a 2013 bt 50 GT auto some ARB gear.
You will note that between the 2 baskets in mine there is a foam divider, which separates the freezer section from the fridge section.
Remove it and you have either all freezer or all fridge. Without it it is hard to see how it would have the fridge/freezer at same time , as suggested by them.
Anyway as I understand it this is the first time the CF50 has had the fridge/freezer as described above. Previously it was only in the cf80 and cf110.
A quick look at the ebay photo does not show the foam divider, nor is there space for one to fit in. The lid too as mentioned is in the incorrect position.
From their blurb
This particular car fridge freezer has been designed with exact specifications as another similar model known as the CF-50 AC from Waeco without the brand name. It actually comes from the same factory in China as the other Major Brand/s in Australia. They even use the same German made Danfoss (Model: BD-35F) compressor. So in actual fact the only different between this unit and other large brand name fridges is the branding and expensive price tag
what do you think of the Waeco CF40? Is it a pretty good unit? I've been tossing up between this and the ARB 47L fridge. The Arb one is $150 dearer based on the two quotes I got. It would be mostly used on 4wd trips for 2/3 people so to keeps food and half a slab cool.
Anyone have one and can rate it over the ARB?

i bought one couple of months back but havent used it in anger. i did run it in my garage coupled to 2 120 amp hour agm batteries it ran for 8 days before i got bored and turned it off and it was run with virtually no load in cool temps .the current draw was lower than i calculated .can't see why the arb would be better or dearer .there was a fridge comparo in 4x4 action a couple of months back where they rated the arb as the best. apparently their opinions are based on who pays them the most .

I had been led to understand the ARB fridge is made by Waeco but to ARB spec
