  • Snorkel for a 2.7ltr Petrol Motor

    Hi guys,

I have just bought a RZN120 series Prado with a 4cylinder 2.7ltr petrol motor. Does anyone know if a snorkel is available for this model?? ARB, Ironman & TJM do not make one for this model, they are even saying that they have never heard of this model. I am trying to get one fitted.

    Any help would be great.

    Thanks,

    Paul

Easiest thing to do is either post a pic of your engine bay showing where the air intake is attached to the inner guard behind the driver's side headlight or drive to your local used car dealer with a 120 V6 on the lot and compare. If they are the same, then just buy a snorkel for the V6 version.

The air box in the 2.7 is on the passenger where as the 3.4 has it on the driver's side. You may be able to modify a diesel snorkel to work with the 2.7 air box.

This is the case for a 90series Prado. The 120series Prado had a 4.0ltr V6 petrol motor and the air box is on the drivers side. In the 120series with the 2.7ltr petrol motor, the air box is also on the drivers side.

My bad. 2.7L 120s are rare as hen's teeth so I assumed it was a 90 series.
