According to Opposite Lock, they seem to think that a rated recovery point can be mounted between the chassis and the bull bar bracket, utilising the bolts for the bull bar to hold them in place. Still waiting on a photo of this rated recovery point. I told OL that if this is true, the OL bull bar and these recovery points will be VERY popular for the 120 series Prado.

I'd be interesting to see if this is true. Given a recovery point will be at least 10mm thick this would offset all the brackets by this amount on both sides - I'd be surprised if they had this much allowance in the fixings.
Nice bar
I like the OL bars.
If I new then what I know now, and I could find one in their catalogue, I would have got one over the ARB.
And, they are still aussie made, in Perth I believe

G'day all.
So finally took the plunge and purchased my 1st 4wd. 2008 GXL Prado. I do a fair bit of Camping, Fishing & Hunting and am wrapped to now be 100% independant if I wish to be.
I've put on the Safari Snorkel and next is the Bull Bar & Winch.
I've looked at a few places, ARB, MCC (quite good I thought), but I've decided to go with the 3 post bar shown here from OL. Keen to hear if you're still happy with the OL bar now after a bit of time?
One thing that might be of interest to people is that if you don't feel that the fog lights are absolutely necessary it will actually drop a further $400 off the price to not have them. So you can end up with an OL Bar (3 post bar pictured above, without fog lights) installed for about $1,300. Pretty good value in my book.
I've got them to package up a 9000lb Warn winch installed also and all up I'm looking at about $2,200 fully installed.
Interesting that the fog lights were a "delete option" - I was told when I asked that they all came with them.... I guess I could take them out, if I could find some rubber caps that fitted the holes... Mine cost $1695, so that'd be right - $1295 without fog lights.
My OL bar is now a month old, and all is well (as one would expect). It moves around a little, but not more than I expected.
Stevensr34 - The cheaper bar actually is just your bar without the holes for the fog lights. So no need for any rubber caps. It's effectively their 'tradesman's bar' which is near on identical to yours, just without the fog light recess.
I like the look of the OL bar, the arb one is still my fav, but in mackay I was quoted 2500 fitted just for the bar and colour coded white! But when I brought my car from the coast, I was quoted 1700! Bloody miners tax!

PeterPilot: Did you ever get the OL bar fitted with the recovery points?
I'm looking at the OL bullbar. I had rated recovery points fitted a few years ago. There's a good photo of the recovery points I have on the AllTerrain4x4 web site. They are about 10mm thick. The first OL salesman said they can fit the bar with my existing recovery points. The second salesman took a look and wasn't so sure. He's going to confirm with the guys in the workshop. It would be great to hear someone else has the bar and the recovery points before I give OL the go ahead.

I'm still waiting on Opposite Lock Penrith to confirm it is possible with photos of these mythical recovery points and bullbar fitted. Once they email me photos, I will post them here.

Sadly my OL dealer confirmed they could not fit the OL Bullbar with my recovery points (same shape as the Outback Ideas recovery points) Suggested a Toyota Sovereign alloy bar, but I would prefer steel. Back to the hunt for a steel bar that has or can accommodate recovery points.

I haven't heard back from OL, I suspect the recovery points they were talking about don't fit with an OL bull bar. So it seems that the X-Rox bar is the only steel bar I know of that will accommodate recovery points.
