  • Engel Tie-Down

    Hi,
I have Just Picked up my 04 Diesel GXL and am going away in 2 Weeks.
I haven’t got the Time to make a Rear storage System for it at the moment but I need to hold the Engel down for the Trip. I have a Fridge Slide and was thinking of Fixing that to a piece of Marine Ply or MDF then bolting that to the Floor using the Bolt holes that the Tie-down loops use? Am I doing the right thing or has any one got any other suggestions or Ideas? I’d prefer not to have to drill any extra holes just yet!

    Thanks In advance
    Cheers,

    Matt (WA)

I put the Engel in the centre of the tie downs for the seats and run a ratchet tie down strap through the eyes and the Engel handles and ratchet it down tight. Doesn't move.

      As above said, Or:

Mdf is a great idea, you can also bolt it to the centre seat holes for extra fixings.
Make sure you use a suitable thickness to hold it if the thing ended up upside down! 16 mm or more. And through bolt your tie down points.

I personally have just used tiedowns to the seat points and rear tie downs when in a hurry.
