Installing GME TX3500 in ash tray slot?

Hi, Wondering if anyone has installed a TX3500 in the ashtray space? I have removed the ashtray and ashtray bracket am fairly confident I could install a TX 3100 they are 121mm wide with thumb screws in bracket. The specs on the TX3500 give a width of 128mm but have a different mounting bracket, any thoughts?

Works for the P3 brake controller - so long as the width works out, it should be ok.

Remember the dimensions of the unit do on alway take into account the thumb screws and backet which is generally additional to the width of the actual unit.

You're probably done with your install and it's not the same UHF but for what it's worth...
I mounted my uniden 7700 bracket just above the light on the ashtray cradle facing out to the cabin. The radio then mounts at an angle facing up with speaker pointed at the center console, the wiring can enter the dash through the ashtray opening which can't be seen unless you get down level with the shifter. There is just enough room to get the thumb screws on either side and it covers the hole left by the ashtray almost perfectly.The uniden looks pretty neat there, the controls are easy to access, no need for extension speakers and if you pull it out when you change cars the ashtray will cover up the screw holes.
