Adding a winch to a non-winch ARB Bar.

As suggested, I have an ARB non-winch bar. For my next purchase (tax time I'd say) I'd like to get a winch (Warn is preferred).
Is it possible to modify a non-winch bar to take a winch? Other than the holes of course I'd assume you need extra bracing in the front of the bar and onto the chassis. I have a mate who can weld as he builds truck bodies and welds every day. I just need to know if it's possible and how.

I've been through your whole build thread. Couldn't find it. All I saw was an Aldi winch on a bracket that sat in your house for months and the number plate mod to flip it up once the winch goes in. Never actually saw it go in. Any hints on the post number or page number of the actual mounting of the winch?

new winch from "aldi" , and air compressor.. sold.. just have to book myself in to fit it one day when i'm bored.. ( next day )



knocked up the winch insert.. lol..



checked packing bit more adjusting but on the money with most of it...

extract from , My build up, what you'll need to do is make up a winch cradle ( insert ), then you'll cut out the lower section of the bar and weld in your insert ,,, then you gusset the inside weld up.. this takes some time and planning, but once all measurements checked you just bolt and power up the winch, rotate the g/box as per norm and paint,,

P.S Its not installed yet, all my parts are ready, but i need to remove my bar again to complete this job. but thats the plan

haha, thx mate.
I'm thinking Ebay might be worth while in the end for a proper winch bar to maintain the legal side of things. It is the daily driver for the misses and kids.
