Hi, just wondering if anyone has installed a reversing camera into thief 120. Any particular makes you would recommend or avoid? I know ARB do one, but are there any other makes worth a look at?

i fitted a $80 one from Repco last september. Doesnt have infrared leds but gives a great image and cant complain for its price. Its a wired one, previous camera was wireless and gave heaps of trouble.

I installed a Navman MyEscape 11 when I first bout my 120. Obvious I needed a reversing camera to make back up to the camper easier. Noted that Navman make one to go with this GPS and RRP was $199. Found you could buy it from Officeworks online for $135. I paid to have it installed but if you wanted to do it yourself would have been relatively easy.
It works a treat.Terry

Has anyone fitted the type you see on ebay that replaces the rear licence plate lamp so it is a camera and light in one unit. Looks to be a very neat solution, but it looks like it is angled and that might be a bit weird using it when reversing into tight spots etc. Any feedback on this unit would be appreciated, as I am interested in getting one and this unit seems to be the neatest solution (looks more factory).Blue 120 GXL Lots of ARB goodies and 1 mysterious switch fitted by previous owner - I still don't know what it does

Strike , parkmate , mongoose all make quality units but honestly on the size screen we view em on most cameras work fine. Got a jaycar 1 on the back and ebay one on the front of my rig ,work fine. So long as it's got a ccd sensor by sharp or sony, ip67 or higher and the viewing angle isn't to high (higher u go the more it distorts the image) you can't go wrong. Good ole safetydave does a good vid on camerashttp://http://youtu.be/qjw6km86S1Y
Here's my camera mounted above the towbar stealth style lol.

Blue Box you can fit a 19mm bullet camera directly above your towbar , gives u a perfect rear view and looks factory. Sure I measured a 21mm gap between the towbar and rear bar when I drilled the hole for mine. Toyota towbar angles up and gives a bit of a void back there Wires go straight up into the car through the grommet for the trailer wire loom. Easy as.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

has anyone installed a system not in the head unit itself? Ive got a good single din head unit and dont want to replace with a touch screen style unit as the single din has everything I need. Wondering if anyone can recommend a good rear view mirror camera unit or something else? Was thinking of a small 3.5" screen but dont want to drill it into the dash via a mount so not sure. I could keep it in the centre console and pull it out when I want to use it but thats a pain.
I imagine that running the cabling all the way down from the rear view mirror camera kits would be a pain in the ass!2012 4dr JK wrangler, 3.5" AEV lift, AEV mags, 35" muddies, front/rear arb bars, tjm sliders, pioneer platform and some other goodies
