Hi all. I have just purchased a 2005 stock GXL and need to fit it out for a trip to the Cape in a few months. My first question is can a Prado take a 12/13000lb winch? A friend who has one said they can only take a 9000lb. Does anyone know? I am mounting a steel winch bar.

I have a 12,000lb winch mounted on mine! I am pretty sure the ARB bullbar is only rated for a 9000lb winch, I use it accordingly.

Its a hell of alot easier fitting a big winch in an aftermarket steel bar than it is an a alloy toyota bar.

Snorkel arrived today. Winch has been ordered. Anyone installed an ebay GPS? If so how is it? Should I be concerned about a second battery under the bonnet? Was thinking a 105ah wet cell to keep weight down.Comment
