When considering winches I looked at the Chinese makes but in the end opted for a second hand Warn for about the same money.
While there are plenty of people who have not had issues with their Chinese winches, but I wonder how many of these people have pushed their winches to the claimed maximum capacity. It's when you’re really stuck and pushing the winch hard that it is likely to break i.e. the worst possible time.

I have a cheapy and while I am happy with it if I had my time again....
I have had it a year and serviced it once. It seems OK, as in no horror stories of obviously dodgey parts. That was before I had any winch experience. Now, I have seen plenty fitted and seen Leachy and Chippy re-build and fit theirs and I wouldn't be scared of repairing an older one. Never gave much thought to it all before, just wanted something new.
Having said that, mine is good enough to keep it's spot on the front of the car for now.

Just looking and dreaming as one does and thought I'd show you this Samo. Not sure what you've been quoted or anything and no affiliation to me or anything, just putting it out there...
