So, I had the Safari snorkel fitted at ARB Brighton and have driven at all speeds up to 100 km/h and sure, there is a little wind noise, but even with my 'bat ears' it's not too bad. I also think it comes from the gap between the grille and the ram body. Might leave it, might seal it... not too bothered. With the driver's window up it's as good as gone.
On another note, the guys at ARB Brighton were great - credit given where credit's due! Discussed the noise issue with them beforehand, asked about many different aspects of the whole op and they gave me detailed answers and so far all have held. After a previous, not so great, experience at another ARB I now have to say that as far as ARB Brighton are concerned they will get more of my bucks. And no, didn't even get a discount, so this recommendation is straight up. Having said that, I love haggling, so the next time will be different...
Just put a TJM Airtec on my rig, and very surprised and happy at the lack of induction and wind noise. There is a slight increase in wind noise, but I am pretty sure it's the placment of the bracket under the weather seal producing it.
I had a Safari put on my 2.8D Hilux years ago and the induction noise increased two fold. The clowns that put it on also
forgot to put the wheel nuts back on, resulting in the departure of the left front wheel whilst under steam  , but that's another story, but it also resulted in the purchase of my first Prado .
but it also resulted in the purchase of my first Prado .
every cloud has a silver lining so they say...
Cheers, Leon There's no such thing as a wrong turn... it's just the scenic route!
