Insert Map DVD error

Hey guys,

So I've got a 2005 120 series prado grande and the other day I ejected the map DVD under the drivers seat as to see which version it was and when I inserted it back in I received the message "please insert map dvd" even though the disk was inserted.

So I tried ejecting the DVD but it's not coming out of the player, I've tried with the car on, with just accessories power etc but nothing has gotten it out.

I saw some other people having issues online so I followed their advice on disconnecting the battery and that didn't fix anything either but changed the message that I've received, it still says 'insert map dvd' just different wording.

Anyone got any clues as to what I could do? Or will I need to take the car in to get a new map dvd and player?

If it's anything like the 150 series if you touch the top right and bottom left (I think) of the screen it will force the disk out. Worth a try, can't hurt.

Not sure if it can help but in old days, CD and DVD drive will have a little hole like below picture

I didn't check if the hole is there. But if it is, you can get something and push to that hole, just like you get your sim card out of your phone.

Cheers for the response, I tried looking for one of those push holes yesterday but couldn't see anything unfortunately.
