Sovereign Bar Winch?

G'day all,

Ok... So I'm new to all this so please bear with me.... I have been watching some of the 4WD Action DVD's and from the looks of it their bull bars seems to have to be fairly tough to deal with the winches and the strength it has to deal with to winch their vehicles out of some of the spots they get into....

So a few questions... The sovereign bar... Of which my Prado has... Is Alloy ?.... And does it have enough strength to be able to run a winch in it?.... Not sure if I am asking the right questions or not .... But I guess my biggest fear is that I fit a winch and it rips the guts out of my bar and the front end.....

You need to fit a winch cradle first. But before that, the bullbar brackets must be the "recalled" version as it is stronger .

Hey Amts... I'm in Tamworth at the moment and I actually went into the Toyota dealership last weekend to find out about the recall on my car.... (As well as my MFD compass issues)...And the guy behind the counter said he couldn't help and couldn't find any information on my car.... And because he couldn't find any information on my VIN number said that's all he could do.... So wasn't quite sure where else to go?? Should I go to another dealership and see if they can find some info on my car??

As AMTS has suggested above, there is a winch cradle that spans between the chassis rails. The winch and the Sovereign bull bar is then fitted to this.

Recall Issue and Cradle Question??

Looking at mounting a winch myself but have read that the Toyota cradle is no longer available. Waiting on a return call from Toyota atm.
With the recall on the 120 sovereign bullbar mounting brackets, I'm guessing its still valid going by the conversation?
One of mine has a crack in it so I'm guessing that's what the recall is all about?

The bullbar "recall" (i.e. Customer Service Exercise - CSE) is over but you can still purchase the kit (p/no PZQ296016ZBF). Then you can fit the updated winch cradle to suit the "recall" brackets (p/no PZQ29602WC)
