Re: Which lights, Lightforce or IPF?

I received a 'hand me down' IPF SuperRally 930 (100w/170w) from my old man. Has anyone had any experience with this light?
I can't seems to get any informations or reviews about this lights. How would it compared against an HID set? (in 170w form)
Any advise would be highly appreciated.

      Cheers,

Re: Which lights, Lightforce or IPF?

I've just been working my way through the thread looking for pictures of folks installations to see what these lights may look like on a similar rig to mine.

I have the ARB Deluxe Winch Bar and I haven't seen a clear example of someone with one of these and the Lightforce 240s anywhere. Does someone have a picture of a setup like this they could share?

I saw a set of these lights in at my local store and they looked huge, unfortunately I was driving the missus' car at the time and couldn't hold them up against the bullbar to see if they would fit properly.

Similarly if someone has the same bullbar and the IPFs that would be nice for a comparison as well.

          Cheers OldGreyGuy

I am now that I have seen what they look like mounted on an ARB bar. Thanks for the image, the 170's look more like I was after.

Would still like to see a set of 240's on an ARB bar but those 170's look OK to me.

but those 170's look OK to me
I now have them on 10mm blocks to lift them a little which improves the looks slightly.

For me they fit well as I have the winch controller on the bar as well, which has the plug on the side so space is tight to get my hand in there as it is. Also as you can see even with the 170s and controller the air flow into the radiator and intercooler pick ups is a little restricted... now imagine the 240's on there... even worse for my intercooler!! and cooling in general. (not that I'm claiming any issues... just something I considered)

Finally for me I couldn't justify the extra $$... I generally try and avoid driving at night as it is and for the times that I do I find the 170's and upgraded headlight glodes perform very well. So much so that I got the crystal blue covers to tone down the light a bit as I had trouble with glare/reflections from road signs etc.

New to the forum, and how good is it.
About to pick up our Prado 2007 D.4D next week. Can't wait.
Thinking of getting some IPF's. This tread has been a good read but,as OldGreyGuy asked earlier has people got any pic's of their driving light set-ups, for a comparison of fitment and of course looks.
                    Cheers

Have a look through the rig build up threads, lots of pictures in there. I now have the IPFs on my rig. I have a link to my build in my signature below.

                      Cheers Andrew
