  • Dr Light covers - Clears or blue?

Getting a set of IPF 600's next week. Can have either clear or blue tinted plastic protectors. I'm not interested in fashion, I want function.

Anyone got the blue covers to improve night vision or are they for pose value only?

I don't want "cool" for "cool's" sake. I want to see down the Bruce Highway at 100km/h with the best light possible. Will "blues" be better than "clears"?. Is their any science for this arguement?

I'll give you an answer next week.

I've just bought a set of the Nite Stalker Roo Lite 220XP's .... and ordered an extra set of BLUE lens covers (that should arrive mid next week).

I intend to fit the lights tomorrow (Sat) and will get some pics with the clear covers on. Then mid week I can get some comparo pics with the BLUE covers.

My biggest concern is the reflection (from road signs etc) with the spotties on. I've read quite a bit about the blue covers reducing the extra glare .... and for $19 / cover it was worth experimenting with.

            I'm interested in the comparison.

            Cheers

              LightForce have two "Blue" covers.

              BLUE: Severe weather/rain/fog/mist

CRYSTAL BLUE: Whiter light/ better penetration/less glare.

I don't know if Roo Lite/ IPF have more than one "Blue" but you'd better check to make sure you get the right ones for the effect you want.

The Roo Lite covers are a Crystal Blue .... for less glare.

They also had the Red and Yellow covers ..... but I'm buggered if I know what thse colours are for ops:

Time and testing will tell

I know you arent inerested in the looks, i was just joking.

Chippy is right (again). Clear lenses are good but I find you get alot of glare coming back off street signs, so a colour like blue or orange (in my case) cuts down on glare quite alot.
