Sovereign bar, non Toyota winch?

I tried this one on Andrew when we had our mounts replaced, but they were adamant that the winch cradle was only to be replaced if the vehicle had one fitted.
Bugga!

Yup I tried that line as well but unfortunately had to hand the money over as I had already had the mounts replaced.

I can't seem to get a quote from Toyota on this winch cradle (Part # TOPZQ29602WC) every place I go I never get a call back and they ask where did I get the part number from...... AUUUURRRRRHHHHH

I have just popped down to my local toyota dealer, and the part number you have there looks like the one for the new winch bracket - but all i remember is that the old number ended in 1wc, and the new one ends in 2wc. they quoted me $211 for the bracket alone, and they regularly have them in stock. I just have to find the right winch to fit. The Warn idea looks good. I asked the guy at ARB what he though of the superwinch x9, and he said that they are great as a boat anchor, but he sells Warn so took that with a grain of salt.

Has anyone tried to purchase a winch bracket recently? Ive been told that the company that made them for toyota has gone broke, and they are no longer available? ARB cant help either...

I called Toyota again about a week or two ago and they advised that there is a wait of about 6 weeks if I ordered one.

I called Torque Toyota today and they said that they can't supply the winch cradle anymore, obsolete or something. Waiting on an email from Black Toyota so will hopefully have more luck with them. Any leads would be good.

Regarding old winch mount, I doubt you'll get one as to their being replaced
by the recall but the PartNo is TOPZQ29601WC if it helps.

hey guys, i have my prado at the workshop at the moment getting the recall done along with the mount bracket for the winch. I went in there yesterday at 2.00pm and they had the part shipped from brisbane overnight at was getting fitted at 7am this morning. The part munber is PZQ29602WC. Now i wait nervously while they dismantle my beloved car and hope i dont get any horor stories that i have heard of!

Got a quote from Ken Mills Toyota today for the winch cradle. $201.30. Same as Sunshine Toyota. Overnight delivery. So looks like stock is ok. It is the new part as the upgraded mountings were done before we picked up our vehicle.

Please make sure that you buy some sikaflex and put it in between the stitch welds of the winch cradle . Where it isn't welded is a very tiny gap that lets water in and it will rust from the inside out.

if you are putting on the winch cradle yourself, just be aware that you have to take the bullbr off.

Not sure if I will attempt it myself yet. Realise the bullbar comes off so would have to find a gantry somewhere.

I am planning on extending the plug connector and mounting it into the black upright rather than having to open bonnet to connect lead..


Obviously also need the offset hawse to be purchased and installed but at least very happy its now on..
