Chippy and I both have Warn XD9000 in Soveriegn bars and it is a tight fit.
As far as I know the 9.5XP has a larger motor than the XD9000 which may pose an issue in fitting it between the bracing.
Note the Soveriegn is designed to have the cable wind on to the winch over the top of the spool, whereas Warn winches are designed to have the cable wind on to the spool from the bottom. That means to fit a Warn winch to a soveriegn bar it needs to installed backwards (with the motor on the opposite side).
The 9.5XD is 2cm longer on the motor side and same diameter plus cooling fins.
Chippy, can you please have a look at yours and see if there is 2.1cm clearance at the motor end of your xd9000? Is there 0.5cm clearance around ther perimeter of the motor end for the cooling fins?
Nath, you might want to check out this months 4WD action, big test on winchs, the 9.5XD come up second to the Premier and it was $500 cheaper, worth a look before you fork out your hard earned cash. I have no idea of the dimensions and suitability of the later, just thought i would flag it.
