I've been looking for a Jacking solution for the Tvan and the Powerbuilt Jackstand looks good. Could you possibly measure the minimum closed height and maximum lift so I can check if it would be suitable.

BTW: it is a Powerbuilt Model #640912. It does not say Made in America, so I can only assume it is made in China because the store I got it from, Tractor Suply Co., is know for carrying China made items.
It's range is 11"-21" or (28-53.5 CM).
I will look more for it OZ Mon. AM.

I also forgot to mention that "Powerbuilt Lift equipment is made to American standards therefore Tons is an American Ton (2000lb), so 3 Tons = (6000lb) or 2721kg

Unfortunately at this stage the lifting equipment is still being tested to
the (different) Australian standards and hasn't been released here yet. I'll
keep your details on file to let you know once it is due for release in
Australia.

let me know if you want me to throw it in my baggage for the GTG '10.

Thanks for posting KP. It's also not that far off of an idea to ask for a group buy. I have done it before and opened new products to North America. How else do you think we get COo.oOL products like MAXTRAX up here.
If we can't get this done I can call the US office and see if they can help in any way.

FlyNdrive,
I sort of put that in my first email to them asking when and where I could buy and also included the link to this page hoping they would go and look it up and see what was on this site. Group buy would be great if we have an importer on the site willing to help out, but the problem is that is may not meet Australian standards at this time. What they are they did not say but looks to be a good concept. I would buy them when I am back in the USA soon but getting them back this way would cost to much and the better half we have us loaded for bear with stuff we cannot get here. Enjoying the life here will be staying as long as they want us here.

This bottle jack may be made in China (I will check today), but that doesn't mean it's crap. US standards are quite high for lifting devices and are probably equal to OZ standards if not better. Remember we lead the world in trial lawyers.
I will look to see if here are reliability complInts with this company and model.

Thanks...I hate to get bashed by numpties. If you read some of the other posts on the web site it is like Prado owners have more finess than other types of owners  But their are some great people on that web site just some take it the wrong way and they think everyone is out to get them.

I called Powerbuilt in California. I learned that it is made in China. It meets and exceeds ANSI/ASME PALD-2003 Safety Standards that apply to all jacks made in the US or China and is required to be sold. This includes a WLL (Working Load Limit) specafied and a breaking strength of 1.5 times the stated WLL, so it will safely lift up to 4.5 US Tons.
Just because a vendor uses a China supplier doesn't mean it's crap. Look at the ARB Simpson III Roof Top Tent and the new Freezer/Fridge. Both are from a reputable OZ Co. & made in China. It comes down to quality control of the parent Co.
Feel free to add this info to OZ Explorer for me.
