Andy, I like your ingenuity. Did you have to make up a faceplate to fit it into or is that the original console backpiece. I have been thinking about fitting it under the ashtray and thought I would have to get a UHF with a seperate headunit because I didn't want to cut into the original console.[i][color=#0080FF]You are not the first person to think that everything has been thought before.[/color][/i]

I removed the original facia which holds the 12v outlet and the blank switches.
My friend owns a sign writers so I scrounged a piece of aluminum faced acrylic approx 210mm x 150mm.
This acrylic slides into the gap then pushed upwards it slides back past the console base and then pulls down behind it.
The UHF has to be mounted low into this acrylic plate as behind their is a duct for airco ( I think?)
I have used the space at the top for aux switches.
I didn't like the idea of drilling or cutting and this method means I can put the facia back in when it comes time to sell.
I am not sure how to post bigger pictures but will try and work it out to make it clearer.Andy Dean
