    How many rigs now have bonnet scoop

    Just wondering how many rigs have had bonnet scoops fitted and how they are finding them..

    As most of you long time PPrs know,I have had my scoop now for almost 18 months and might have been the virgin fit out on here so was wondering how many have done the mod and how are your results...

    Iv'e got one, very happy with it. tested it out on our recent cape york trip, plenty of rough roads and water over the bonnet creek crossings and no problems at all. Cant comment on fuel economy though as i am not much for measuring economy at the best of times, but i fitted a roof rack at about the same time so economy suffered because of the rack, about 1 litre / 100k i reckon from my rough calculations, maybe it would have suffered more without the scoop?

    As i keep telling the missus, any improvement in performance or economy is just a bonus, cause it looks s#%t hot 8)

      std this way, cant get this 1 pass the minister. cheers samo
      had an 03 gx 120 with some gear now got a 2013 bt 50 GT auto some ARB gear.

            Yep I fitted mine a few months ago now and still very happy with it. Much the same as AJ120 above - I dont really record fuel consumption so am uncertain of the exact benefit although I am convinced it is a good mod.

            Nothing beats driving and looking over a bonnet bulge.

            Other thing is in the sea of white 95's driving around I am instantly recognisable to my mates.

                  If I had to do it again I would use an aftermarket fibreglass scoop from someone like The Spoiler Shop.
                  The Hilux ones actually protrude down into the bonnet and it makes them a pain in the arse to fit, though they are good. Aftermaket ones just sit on top of the bonnet and are much easier to fit (and probably cheaper).

                        Yea I know I have a POOTrol scoop...did not record the effects. I still like the look of it.

                          Patrol scoop looks pretty much the same & is a cheaper alternative.
