  • ARB Deluxe bar Fog light??

    G'day all,

After a trip this morning I have just realised my Drivers side fog light in the Arb Deluxe bar is cracked and full of water

What I thought was a small puddle now higher then hub height turned out to be a bloody big holes with water 1/3 the way up the windscreen. Unfortunantly I had my lights on and fog lights too, hot glass + cold water =

Does anyone know that they are worth to buy? I have a few spare bulbs, I just need the new lense/casing. Not expecting them to be cheap.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers,

    RT

    Hey RT

There may have been a crack in the lens or housing already as i have submerged (as in fully under water not just splashed)mine with them on many many times with no worries whatsoever.

The actual IPF from ARB are around the $350 to $400.
I have been told that they also sell a cheaper version I'm not sure how much this is.
There is also a Hella (I think) alternative for around the $180 $200 mark.

Hi RT, fog light (Not spot light, right?). If so, ARB fit both for $70... Didn't know they were made of glass though...

        Hi RT,

Yeah as Williams says - I picked up a pair for $65 from my local guy.

I actually though they were sealed and for $65 bucks didnt bother to look into replacement globes...

        Cheers

Ahhh Sh!t. Mine must be the old (expensive style). 350 bucks for a fog light is bloody crazy.

I know a bloke with a GU Patrol who took out the fog light/indicator and replaced them with Lightforce 170 and 140.

Maybe I could replace the fog lights with lightforce 140's if I could mount it properly.

I have the same issue. Older bar and new fog lights, cos I wasn't going to pay such a high price for fog lights that I may never use. ARB also told me that changing over the plastic housing won't work either as the old style and new are not interchangeable. I reckon I can make brackets to mount the new fog lights into the old plastic housing however the tricky part will be drilling a hole for the adjusting screw. When I get around to it (lots of other stuff to do first) I will try and post some pics. Cheers....Wayne

New and old not being interchangeable was rather shortsighted on ARB's part.
I recently took a bird strike which destroyed the ARB plastic fog light protector ... and they don't make them any more because I was told that the new plastic lights cost only a little more than the protectors... (I therefore wrongly assumed that the new and old lights were interchangeable).
I'm interested to see how you get on...

Re: ARB Deluxe bar Fog light??

I found a cheap set of small round lights in the bargain bin at the local auto shop - I cut up the monuts to make them fit and jobs done. Total cost was $50. $30 for the lights and $20 to upgrade the bulbs and I had the switch and wiring surplus in the shed.

I would strongly recommend looking in the cheapie bin before lashing out for arb branded gear.

Prado887, yeh I think it may have had a crack in it to start with as the passenger side fog light didnt smash yesterday.

I cant believe that ARB will discontinue a part and not have something to replace it. WTF

I dunno what I'm going to do now. A pair of HID Lightforce 140's would be perfect if I could get them to fit and mounted properly.

I cracked one of mine and am sure it is a glass lens with plastic surround. Dealer wanted about $65 for the pair. Lucky for me, another customer walked in at the same time looking for one for his rig so we split the cost.

Yes they always know how to charge and make things difficult

If you have a local autobarn they have both the Hella and Narva size lights that fit the holes, I have seen it done but not sure how the mounts were changed. There are always a lot of LED and foglights on Ebay, may get lucky.....
Also I think Ironman bullbar foglights are very close to the ARB ones at half the cost of them so i've been told.

A set of HID 140s would be awesome if they fit the gaps would't it cost around the same ?

Re: ARB Deluxe bar Fog light??

Would have to start cutting the plastic surround to fit 140's in there.

As you were saying Ryan, the Narva 100mm lights fit into the surround. They come in fog light and driving light. A bloke on Patrol4x4.com can do 55w HID Narva 100mm driving lights for around $350 and will fit in the old mounts.

Temping, just need to figure out what to do. Do I need fog lights or should I use the space for 'more' driving lights :?
