I've had the OI recovery points fitted to my 2007 model 120 series, and have the same issue with the original tiedown points fouling the shackle as post #117 (with pictures) in this thread. I've seen it mentioned a few times, but haven't seen what to do about it. A 3.2T bow shackle will fit, but sits at an awkard angle on the passenger side. 4.8T definitely won't. Perhaps it wouldn't be an issue if I had a bull bar fitted and the point was spaced further away from the tiedown loop.
What have others done about this? Cut off the tiedown loops or put a spacer in?

Mine was 2 days old when I cut the tie down loops off, never missed them Pics in my rig build if your interested, first page.

Been down to see Darren at TJM Brendale this morning and they have a new supply of recovery points for the 120 and 150's.

I have held the 150 recovery point up to the bracket that my T13 bull bar is mounted to on my 120 and it looks like it will fit perfectly. The recovery loop will sit down below the bracket and well clear of the factory, welded tie down points.

I will post some installed pictures as soon as it is done, probably after Christmas, but here are some images of the ones I picked up today.

I figured they were after I got them and saw the Roadsafe on the web, but I needed one to hold up to the vehicle to make sure they would all fit properly given that are meant for a 150 and I am fitting them to a 120 with an old style T13 bar.

I think it's worth a few extra dollars some times to be able to hold them up and be sure.

Fair enough, just thought I'd post up the alternative source. The postie actually tried to deliver mine this morning which is impressive considering I only ordered them yesterday afternoon. But then they only had to come within Vic and not interstate. Sadly I was still asleep when he called so now have to trek to my local PO to collect them.

Don't get me wrong, I would have preferred to order them on line and have them delivered to my door too. I just needed to be sure they would fit.

At least anyone else with the 120 and T13 to go down this path will know where to get them.

Hi folks,

A question for anyone who has fitted the recovery points as per "Roadrunner offroad" recovery points (also supplied elsewhere, I'm not sure exactly who the manufacturer is), to a 150 Prado (without a bumper bar).
The recovery points are embossed with "RPPRA150-F12 WLL 5000kgs"

I know that on the 150 Prado you only use two bolts per recovery point, (even though there are three holes and three bolts supplied with each recovery point), as indicated in the ebay information link above. The lower bolt is easy to fit as there is already a threaded nut located in the chassis. However....my question is how do I fit the other bolt on each recovery point??

They have supplied nuts fixed to backplates with a long wire tacked to the nut plate ..so obviously they are intended to be inserted into the chassis somehow....but unfortunately I'm not sure where to insert the nut/plate assembly.

Do I need to remove the bumper bar and insert the nut through the end of the chasis rail, or is there another access point that is easier to use to access the chassis somewhere that I just just see???

Any advice would be appreciated good folks.

Hi Brogers,

If you dig back through the thread I'm sure there's a mention of not having to remove the ARB bar somewhere. As I have a 150 and a TJM bar I can't be much help in that regard. The manufacturer of your points is Roadsafe and they are sold through a number of outlets including RoadRunner Offroad, TJM, and Everything4WD.

On the chassis, further aft, there is a rectangular hole large enough to feed the nut plate through. Note that the existing nut plate from the ARB bar will fall into the chassis when you undo the bolt. It is then a matter of fishing the nut plate out and putting the new nut plate on.
