  • Spare Wheel Covers

I've seen a few 120s with a small flat disc-like spare wheel cover, that covers only the wheel rim, not the tyre. They appear to be fixed by a nut or something in the dead centre. Anyone know if this is a Toyota thing, or after-market? And do they require anything special on the spare wheel bracket, or do they fit all? I quite like the look of them, and might like to try one.

Those covers came standard with the Grandes. There is a bracket that you need to bolt onto the spare wheel carrier which the cover attaches to via a standard wheel nut.

Yes,that's the one, thanks guys. Obviously mine is not a Grande, so might have to go and talk to Mr Toyota about this. If it's a Toyota part, might be a bit too spendy!

        Cheers, Steve.

There may be someone on the site here who may no longer be using theirs. Try posting up in the wanted thread in the marketplace section.

The scratched one on the right. And I must correct you. The better question is: "Which one WAS mine".

The one design fault in the MCC rear bar is the license plate fixing system. It makes getting it off very diificult. I simply fixed the light and plate direct to one of the covers and can now remove either wheel and put the cover on the remaining one. (Well almost, I need to extend the wire )

Personally I think he wheels look good.
So what is the reasons behind needing a spare wheel cover?
Mine has the usual small toyota lock on it.
I use a bin bag, multipurpose, protect tyre from sun a bit, not sure if it relly matters, especially if you rotate and turn them.
