If your car works as hard as mine (or if you don't have a bullbar but also like to touch-park or push the car in front of you out of the way...) then check your front bumper fittings on the underside. There are 4 ears with 6mm holding bolts. 3 of my ears had cracked though completely: The bumper was in place, but just hanging from the top supports and "flippin' and floppin'" (to quote Kramer from Seinfeld)...
So I cut some 35mmx50mm plates from 3mm aluminium (don't you just love working with aluminium?) and fitted these to all 4 ears. Broken ears were refitted and sandwiched inbetween in order to keep a tight fit and ensure contact and support for the bumper. I used stainless steel bolts and stainless steel washers - of course...
Now let's get back to work!
