    Re: Mudflaps

With thanks to Rusty for the idea and specs, I have knocked-up the attached.
Probably cost me 50 bucks as i bought all the materials and made one oopsie along the way....

Sorry to one-up you Rusty, I have painted mine and even put on chair stoppers to cap the ends and dont they look a treat!

Apologies for the image quality, what you cant see is that I wasnt able to bend the flat section like Rusty so I welded a 10mm spacer to clear the (D4D) exhaust pipe.
Bolts are M8 1.25mm, trial and error saw a couple of sets of bolts as 'spares'!

Thanks again Rusty for the great idea, pity I didnt see this before I peppered the bear bumber though...
    Micheal.
    Cheers
    Micheal.

      Re: Mudflaps

Looks good Micheal, I might just "borrow" this idea as well. I have removed my mudflap extension on the OE mudflaps as i have pulled the mudflaps clean off a couple of times now.

I will have a closer look when we catch up in Pinaroo.

      Cheers Andrew

With your skills Andrew id expect to see the welder come out at the campsite and we'll have them on in the morning!
Seriously - Look forward to sharing the idea!

            Re: Mudflaps

Why not just get a longer piece of mudflap rubber, say 40cm long, and attach it up into the wheel arch, with multiple fixings including the three on the original mudflap?
That way the load is spread over many attachment points, not just the three on the mudflap itself. You could use, for instance, the attachment points for the OEM mudflaps.

I'd imagine this is by far the easiest fitting option...

Judicious use of a drill and black cable ties should fix the issue fairly cheaply. 8)

Unfortunately it happened half way across the northern highway in the kimberleys and the remains of the mudflap was trying to rearrange the side of the car so removed the remains with brute force on the side of the road  , have fitted new flaps now after driving around for 5 months with odd looking mudflaps.
