Roof Rack Mount Plates & Bolts

My first post!!!

I've recently purchased a 2003 GXL that doesn't have the roof rack mounting plates and bolts.
I've plugged up the holds and tried to waterproof it as much as possible. So far, so good!

My problem is I can't seem to find the plates or bolts anywhere except Toyota which are ex Japan and cost a pretty penny for some pressed metal and bolts.

Can anyone direct me to a retailer that could supply them?

try a wreckers yard and see if you can whip then off a wreck or maybe some group like terrain Tamer. They have a lot of spare parts and might have something. You could go to a nuts and bolt place (like Coventry Fasteners) and get most of the gear without the cover plates

You could get a 3 bar heavy duty roof rack set (identical to the ones from Rhino) from Toyota for about $300.

Or you could buy just the mounting pads, screws, washers and O-rings from Rhino as spare parts.
Mounting pads: M111, M112, M113, M114, M115 and M116
Screws: M8x50 (B126) and M8x40 (B127)
Spring washers: M8 (W019)
Flat washer: 5/16 x 3/4 (W030)
O-rings: 4mm x 4mm (C299) and 10mm x 3mm (C088)

Part above obtained from the fitting instructions link from the link above.

Plus you'll need the insert cover pads (M126) to seal off the mounting pads.

Thanks guys, the rhino rack will work a treat.

On further investigation, the plate is only required for a certain type of roof rack which has a hook to tighten it to the vehicle.
Toyota wanted to charge about $250 for all 6 plates and 12 bolts!!!
