I have an odd situation with my emergency brake. About a week ago I did a moderately difficult offroad course and afterwards my handbrake was completely slack. Pulling it up all the way did not apply the rear discs. I did wade though fairly deep water (about 800mm I guess) for about 80m.
Then I tensioned it inside the vehicle (under the central cup holders) and it is applying fully in about 6 clicks. But when I tested it while in motion there is a distinct knock that seems to be coming from below the rear foot area. This knock only occurs while I apply the handbrake and at about 4 clicks. Also it feels as if there is a shudder on my brakes after a bit of driving, so I do not know if my back brakes are not applying completely when I brake and my fronts are overheating causing the shudder.
Anyone have any idea what can be wrong or where I can start looking for something odd? I am going to bleed the system tomorrow morning, but I do not foresee it changing anything.
Any suggestions?
