Hmm, not sure how it happened but I've got the shift lock stuck in the down position on my 4 speed auto. It dosn't present any real issue other than no longer having the gear selection locked when the key is not in place.
I suspect this has occured by some grit such as sand getting in the side of the shift lock button. I don't use the shift lock very often and do not recall when I last used it. I think it may have been accidently depressed on the last trip with some grit down the side and is locked in the downward position. I've had a quick go and using something to slide down the side but to no avail. I've also tried to remove the center console cover and have had some success but was pushed for time.
just wondier if anyone has encountred this before and any suggestions. if not it's not biggie and can be looked at at the next service which is probably about a month away.
