  • Transfer case blown?

Hey guys, was just driving out of my street , and all off a sudde no drive! I put it into locked high and I had drive t the wheels again. I guessing my transfer case is buggered. I have noticed a leak coming from the front output shaft and thought I would "leave it till next time" haha . I have also had my front tail shaft out because I blew both my cv boots s they had no grease in them , so I took the shaft out so there was no actual load on the front drivetrain (and drove around in locked high so I had rear wheel drive)

Yes I was a naughty boy and went mudding in rear wheel drive - which I might say was epic fun 4whee burnouts Arnt as good as we all know. I loved having rear wheel drive , it's was rwd for about a week or so until I got both the cv boots replaced.

Now when I put my front shaft back in , I noticed a driveline vibration that wasn't there before. Definatly started when I put the from shaft back in. Then tonight she finally must have let go :/ I havnt tested to see if it's defiantly the front that has no drive (but it's pretty obvious)

I know I'm up for some $$$ on a transfer fix now haha. But would anybody know what the problem is what could have happened?

So I guess you've all wondered what your prado would be like in rwd on wet road - mudding : drift king!!! Yep it was insane fun, but know you all know it's stuffs your transfer case too

Old guys don't shake your heads , we all know you've all been young and wild too

Never mind guys!!! Got underneath had a look and the front shaft is still spinning in unlocked and rear isn't, meaning my front diff is blown!!!! Better news than blown transfer. Now it's time for a locker

Answer to post 2 is yes.

Get yourself a eaton e-locker they retail for about $1495.00 let us know if it is hard to fit, so then we know for when ours blows :-)

Yeah it's between that or Air locker. What kind of warranty do eaton have ? Arb has 1 year warranty on there air locker.

I like the idea of electric - since I'm an electrician it's more of my kinda area, not really interested In little airlines which get ripped off so easily

Yes, it's a full drop in situation and is a electromagnetic system. The mechanism doesn't have the same problems as the compressed air units, with that seal failing and all. I like the Eaton E Locker, simple system.

E-lockers can be brought from all Opposite lock out lets. I am in the process of tying to get one fitted to the rear of mine. If you do order one they do not come with bearings so order first. I have a two week wait for them as Toyota do not stock bearings for rear diff.
