Hi Guys
Recently had my car in for service, and the mechanic identified an issue with the gearshift. He said the gearstick was too sloppy and that it was because of a nylon piece that fits onto the lower part of the gearstick being worn. I reckon I can fix this myself, can anyone advise me on where to get the part, and what it's called?
The second part of my question relates to the deterioration of that nylon part. Can that part fall to pieces inside the box and jam up the 4WD shift. Because the two problems seem related. I really noticed the sloppiness in the shift, and then not long after I discovered that I couldn't shift into 4WD, as the 4WD shift is jammed in position. I was wondering if a bit of the nylon part could have become lodged in there somehow?
Any ideas?
Brett
