Transmission Whine 2007 D4D

Hi All,

I know it's been asked b4, so i trolled the threads and here is a new one.

2007 D4D Auto with 90k km, when driving on the freeway i can hear a slight whine during very light acceleration (keeping up with traffic speed changes) if i then get to speed and just take my foot of the accleerator and coast the noise dissappears instantly, it sounds as if it is coming from the TFR case.
I have just traded a 90k km 2004 petrol for it and never heard the same noise in the previous vehicle..............any ideas?

I am planning to change the Diff and TFR case oils for REDLINE as i have had success with the Lightweight Shockproof gear oils in the past for the TFR case.

Just getting ready for 7 mths on the road with the missus and nippers si i want to make sure alls well!

Thanks for the info,

I have changed the fluids (both diffs and tfr case) for redline and will have the AT serviced (flushed) next week. The noise has deminished a bit since the fluids were changed, the Outlaws have the same vehicle(year and TD 3000) and i mentioned it to them, they have the same noise from new as well, so it seeme that it may be quite normal.

Performance is not affected, and on the open road (except smooth fway's) you cant hear the noise.... so we'll see how it all goes!.

Could this just be the turbo whine?
