rear doors dont set lights off

Hey guys, ive got an 04 GX prado. If i open the rear doors the door lights or interior lights dont turn on. Theres bulbs in the door lights so its either a coincidence or the GX's dont have this as an option? It is a bit strange because of this when I unlock my car, open a rear door and shut it the car still locks as it thinks a door hasnt been opened.

Any light shed (not a punt) would be great!

There's an issue with the door switch - poor connection somewhere. Remove it, give it a clean and see how you go.

Mines an 06 GXL and does the same thing with the locking. But when I open the rear door the back interior light comes on but none of the others, when I open any other door all the lights come on except the rear one. Very strange! I just thought it was a funny set up with the lights but now I'm wondering if there's a problem. Sorry I can't be of any help to you, I am interested to see what others say to.

Well I ordered a new switch for the rear door light and fitted it this afternoon. My locking is now working properly and when I open the tailgate all the interior lights come on. However the back light still doesn't come on with the courtesy lights or when I open any door other then the tailgate. Is that just the way the lights are wired?
Just incase anyone is ever needing a part number for the switch it is called a courtesy switch and number is 84231-60070
