DIY cruise control prado 120
OME is the way to go.
Pictures on original reply thread - adding cruise control
Just completed the conversion yesterday. I based it on the toyotanation tocuma forum but have had to modify along the way. It is that easy it hurts. I'll post the photos I've taken. First you need to order the stalk/switch about $50 eBay.

Remove the two panels either side of steering wheel and undo the hex bolts to remove the airbag assembly (I didn't unplug or disconnect it but be gentle)
The switch is a universal fit for Toyota vehicles but the plug can be different.
I was able to remove the electric contact pins (using a pin and screw driver) and place them in my original plug.

Steering column wires mirror steering wheel plug and provide a guide as to colour - red goes to blue/black (positive)

Connect it up and the cruise light comes on the dash.

I have a manual so I need a clutch switch which I have ordered. It will attach and replace this bolt

To see if it was working I found the clutch switch plug high in the dash and bridge the plug with wire. What do you know it works.

Tacoma plug as arrived. http://www.pradopoint.com/attachment...2&d=1385526159
Other part numbers required
45186-0C020-B0 Steering wheel cover (order based on your steering wheel cover color B1 is grey B0 is black)
88280-14030 Clutch switch (only needed if you have a manual transmission)
84633-04020 Cruise control wire (this is what connects the stalk to the steering wheel spinal)
90080-15079 1/2" 10/32 screws (you could save some money and get these at a hardware store)..
I've ordered those through toyota online parts through the USA
http://www.pradopoint.com/attachment...1&d=1385636828
Cost $99 but they are going to refund the cost of the switch wire $26

and wire bridge

I made up till the switch arrives

and the finished result.

Really you don't need to purchase the switch wire which would save you $26 if you can put the pins from the new wire in the original plug as I did.
No need to add the brake switch, the original one already tells the ECU to cancel the cruise. Until the clutch switch arrives just don't change gears or the old girl revs her head off!
Total cost $140
Hope this helps
This was a reply to another thread (adding cruise control) but thought it might help any other frustrated GX owners without cruise.
