I'm hoping to install a W602C eBay head unit when I get around to it.

I'm wondering if anyone has successfully installed 2 cameras with this headunit or a similar headunit

I intend on installing one for reverse and one in the bullbar
    Thanks jamie

Nope, haven't done it, but if it is similar to my Elinz head unit then it should have an input for reverse camera as well as an AV input that you can put your front camera on - simples!

I'm getting a W612 unit fitted on Tuesday by Auto Elec who says it should take around 2 hours, had a lot of different prices all the way up to just short of $400 pays to shop around,
Also if you tow a C/Van be aware that if you run a second camera for Towing then when you hit reverse the Cam on Prado will cut in and all you will see is the front of the Van so you need to install a cut off switch to Prado Cam . Also there is other talk of this on another forum site I will find and come back to you Something else to take into account is that if you are running a C/van camera on the Video in on the Head unit then you cant run the other functions like the Ipod or the radio I am told, I am getting the Auto electo install both the Camera RCA lead and ALSO a second double RCA lead so that 1 RCA will go to the Video in and the second one will be there ready if I decide to install a second Screen dedicated to the C/Van Cam.
I will come back once installed and let you know the out come. One other thing is check the dimensions of the face oth the W602 and make sure they are suitalble for your 120, Here is a link to a guy who shows how to pull the dash apart and install
      http://www.hgfs.net/4x4mods/0710head...10headunit.htm
You can also look at the forum headed "After Market Stereo"which covers a lot on this topic also
      Good Luck

        Thanks jus and Jeff

Been thinking I may be able to get a 2 into 1 av adapter and have the cameras on a on off on switch with reverse coming on via one on position and then the front in the other on position. When I get around to buying the one I want I think I will try it unless someone can help with a better idea.

Jamie, i tried this some time back without much success. Two into 1 RCA with a three way switch (Front/Off/Rear).

Never did find out if it was the camera that was the issue, or the wiring...
          Cheers

OK J Janke but like I said better check that other functions (radio USB Ipod etc) still work as I have been told the Camera will stop them whilst it is functioning.

Well had the C612 fitted yesterday by the Auto Elec Its the same size as the C602 and same functions. He also ran 2 extra RCA leads that I asked for 1 for the C/Van Camera and connects to the Video in on the Head and the second is free both ends and may be connected to an independant Cam and Screen to leave on all the time.
Also had a cut out switch on the Prado Rev Camera so that when I hit Rev that Cam can't cut in when towing.
              Several issues to sort out
1 the CD / DVD wont accept any discs , it "Sucks them in "for a few seconds then spits them out and turns the FM radio on .
2 also It will not connect my Ipod which it says "Failed to read Ipod"and
3 doesn't appear to be any AM Radio,
Sent an email off to "Susan" where it was purchased and got a reply within the hour response was that CD/DVDv won't work if unit is too tight and the Ipod she says is because the 160GB size is too big, So may have to go back and get Auto Elec to check fitting. She says AM radio should work if FM does so will try to sort out these issues and report back Cheers

Did the auto eleccy remove the 2 CD mechanism transport screws from the top before he fitted it? Just a thought...

am reception was poor on a recent radio swap, the Prado has an amplified antenna which used to get power from the head unit, the sparky has to locate the antenna amp feed and ensure power gets to it,
reception was restored after that was fixed, if you are stuck i can find out the wire colours

Thanks Jus10 I don't know but thats a good thought I took it back to the Auto Elec and he Undid the frame and loosened the screws but still the same.
I will ask that question though. Also found another possible problem the unit "Fails to read"the USB stick so I have emailed the seller again and await their comical Chinglish reply

Hey J Janke. Got 2 cameras running off my clarion headunit , one in the bullbar to an av in on the stereo ( it does override the radio but only really used in low range drivin anyway) and one to the reverse camera input mounted above the towbar. If you run the reverse camera power to the amp trigger wire on the stereo (it's usually the blue wire ) that let's you switch to the camera anytime Your driving to check on what your towing. Then you run the reverse camera trigger wire on the headunit to the reverse light power wire and the camera will still work automatically when reverse is selected. Worked 4 me anyway. some photos below of where I mounted the reverse camera.

                          Thanks Shangus

What clarion headunit do you have if you don't mind me asking?

Another question when you say the camera overrides the radio is it only the front camera? And does the radio come back on itself after camera goes off?
Also am I correct in saying that with how your reverse camera is set up you can access it on a certain screen all the time and still use other functions and then when reverse is selected the screen comes up?

Jeff when you get it sorted can you let us know how you went.
I'm interested in knowing if the cameras override everything when they come one

I'm running a clarion NX502a, alpine amp, pioneer sub n alpine speakers. Everything but the headunit was out of my old dunnydoor so thought I'd better recycle it in the prado instead of fleabayin it.
Yeah the front camera overrides everything cause u have to select av1 on the stereo which is a separate function. You just switch back to the radio when you don't need the camera anymore. (Usually when you've run out of cane toads to run over up here
The rear camera I can access anytime and the radio, ipod or cd keeps playing, I just select rear camera from the menu and it brings up the rear view ( you can adjust the volume just can't skip tracks etc but that could be different on other head units)
The reverse function brings the rear view up automatically when reverse is selected. The radio Etc keeps playin in the background and when you disengage reverse the camera switches off n whatever you were using before eg nav or cd comes back up.
Just an idea for running a 3rd camera for a trailer with how I set my reverse camera up.
If you ran the car reverse camera power cable through a switch then to a relay you could run the trigger wire from the stereo that brings up the camera automatically through the relay as well then when you switch the camera off it should bypass the override function by disconnecting the trigger wire power. Have the trailer camera hooked up to the headunit as well with an av splitter and a switch and when you power it up it should bring up that camera on the screen and you'd still be able to listen to the radio etc and see what's behind your trailer Have to try it out and see if it works. Hmmmm wonder if you could run 6 cameras on a prado lol
