  • Waterproofing the computer

Has anyone ever done this to their Prado? After any thoughts/ ideas. Doing the Cape and Old Telegraph Track the next week and wondering with a bit of rain around if its worth my while? Do they get to hot to wrap in plastic etc? Any insight would be awesum, thx!!

well they would be a completly sealed unit, so i doubt they would need a bag to cover them. What i could suggest is to take the plug off and put some electrical grease in there to help prevent water getting in.

Something like this would be suitable http://www.blackwoods.com.au/part/01...ease-tube-142g

    Cheers Joel

If the water is high enough that the computer is under water I think you are pretty much stuffed.

Your main concern on the tele track is Nolans Brook, all the others are pretty firm bottoms or rock. If its deep then just give Nolans a miss, the rest is still worth the trip. Just make sure you walk every crossing and assess every one on its merits on the day.

Marginally harder heading South, creek crossings would be much the same but some of the Southern banks are a bit rugged and would take a bit more effort to go up than down.
