Jackmaster bypass oil filter

Hi all.

Is there anyone useing a jackmaster oil filter or know how well they work i hear they take out the crap out of the oil and your motor runs a lot cleaner and less full oil changes.

I'm a diesel mechanic with about 30 years in the trade, some of that time working on fleet linehaul trucks. They had "Kleenoil" bypass systems on them similar to the Jackmaster. If your talking high km's and around 30-40L of oil per change they are beneficial as you are extending the life of the oil not necessarily the engine (the engine should last as long with regular oil changes as it would with bypass oil filtration) and saving an appreciable amount of money in the process. IMO you wouldn't see any benefit on a passenger car that uses say 7L of oil per change and low-ish km's. Some toyota engines have bypass oil filters as standard (1KZ and 1HZ for example) - the filter is a combined bypass and full flow filter.
I have considered it for my vehicle but decided the gains aren't worth the outlay and you are also introducing another point of failure (i.e hose rubs through or fitting snaps) when your half way along the Anne Beadell hwy...

I am in a similar boat to adrian and came to a similar conclusion.
