Since I'm out of ideas I hope that someone more mechanically inclined might be able to give me some pointers on what to do next. I bought a used TTE-performance kit (Toyota tuning box) for my 1kd-ftv D4D. When I install the tuning box I can feel a slight hesitation in the throttle response. Not big but still noticeable. Secondly the cruise control stops working. If I turn of the car or disconnect the battery and the turn it on again the cruise control works for a couple of minutes before it goes away again. If I disconnect the tuning box everything works perfect. With the box installed boost levels are slightly higher in mid range and peak. Low end power seems about normal if not under. No smoke. However the overall impression is not as powerful and smooth as other TTE tuned cars supposedly give.
There is no lights coming on when the cruise control stop working. Haven't been to the stealership to read codes but at the last service (with no box installed) there where no codes.
I have one theory that I was hoping to get some thoughts on. Maybe the SCV valves are on their way to go faulty causing the engine to not respond correctly when the tuning box i trying to add more fuel than normal?
