well my guess would be yes if the replacement pipe is larger and removes some restriction. It also would allow for better combustion as the combustion chamber is scavenged of the spent gases more efficiently allowing for a cleaner dense air charge. There are plenty of exhaust companies around. Taipan is one which comes to mind.
Cheers

Lightforce 240Blitz driving lights, Rear hitch recovery point, GME tx3400 uhf, 64watt Uni-Solar cell, ARB CKMA12 Air compressor. all awaiting new vehicle to be delivered so they can be remounted.
Putting in a less restrictive, bigger diameter dump pipe will improve low end performance, allowing the turbo to spool up faster. As suggested Taipan make some good performance exhausts.
I thought my kids were bad  . Is it something I said ops: ? I am trying to find out whether the old diesel had a CC in the exhaust, I know the D4D does. I supose I can wait until tomorrow and get under there and have a look. Gee.....

Ha, got ya Nick
Thanks to grahmars04 for the sensible and correct answer.
I recently fitted the Beaudesert exhaust on my D4D and it has made a massive difference in torque and economy.
System consists of a ceramic coated dump off the turbo, hy flow cat and muffler. It is a little noisier than stock but it is well worth the trade off. And you do get a lot stronger diesel exhaust smell mainly due to the smaller cat.
I get around 200 kms more fom both tanks. Turbo spools up around 400rpm earlier and doesnt run out of puff at higher RPM. I also run a K+N filter and also found that to work brilliantly, although if i went bush i would change to the original filter for the trip as the K+N does not filter as effectively as the OEM unit.
I drove a stocker the other day and couldnt beleive the difference in power levels from just those 2 mods.
cheers John
