    Hi,

    I have looked at various old posts on the forum, and from what I can see it seems like Australian spec 2007 Prado with D4D engine does not have DPF (Diesel particulate filter) or any other such emission reducing device.

    Can somebody actually confirm this for me.

    Reason I ask, is to make sure that if I run high sulphur content diesel, it will not damage anything.
    Can I run high sulphur diesel (as long as it has no water and dirt in it) in D4D engine without driving it to destruction?

    The DPFs are only now starting to appear on the new models although some exotic European imports have had them for a couple of years. Yours is DPF free.

      My '07 Pathfinder was an exotic european??

      The DPF didnt bother me but the stupid auto trans that was somewhere between a normal auto and a CVT sure did annoy me!

          Thank for the info, I am not getting it anywhere as of yet. But plan to take my Prado to Far East Russia and Central Asia one of these days (just a plan), so I am looking into it :-).

            WOW... that will definitely take some planning! Best of luck with that. I have seen some footage of roads in the Eastern regions of Russia and they are horrendous... not to mention the questionable quality of the diesel. FWIW, you will want to install a Pre-Filter of at least 30 microns to catch all the water and other crud before it hits your OE Filter.

                get a really good funnel from MR funnell http://www.mrfunnelaustralia.com.au/buy-online.html F15 is the one he recommended
                and fill your car through that, then you can see what is coming out before you have it go through you cars engine
