Bushbasher and crew over here in the west.

Hi PP people I have an old 120 1KZ ( end 2005) that needs some love and attention in the engine department. It's had a chip put in and done 165k and when you put the foot down DFES is put on alert. Apart from that i would like to get other stuff looked at such as EGR, oil pickup etc.
My mechanical skills are basic so i don't want to play around with stuff that costs big bickies if i get it wrong.

Looking for someone who knows their s#%t around town.

United Fuel Injection GE Hwy near Perth Airport? A few members have used these guys. I haven't personally as I do my own work. Sounds like she needs a freshen up under the rocker cover.

She needs a bit of a tickle up as the new campers a bit heavier than the old one. Needs some more get up and go.

I know what you mean I have the 06 1kz just got back from a little trip from Kalbarri with 2 grandkids and the wife with loaded caravan, 2 and a bit bit bit tons struggling like hell coming back scared to check my fuel consumption but heavy, only got the 4 speed auto and had to drop down a gear for an awful lot of the way , headwinds mind you , just picked up a later 09 model with the D 4D motor , not using it till I get the Injectors done ( scared ) I was thinking of using Bushbashes recommendation myself they seem to have all the latest gear but was looking for someone nearer home really,

Did put a 3 inch exhaust on the 1kz and was going to chip it but I really think I was throwing good money after bad without getting the oomph to tow the caravan , did go to GTURBO in balcatta he seemed to know his stuff Greame ,and they have a dyno too might do the trick a dyno tune, but said you will never improve fuel consumption, give him a Google or Facebook .

Total Fuel Injection Service in Balcatta are another good mob to deal with.
Been in the game for a long time.

Give them a Google and a call on Monday , saves going down that bloody Tonkin hw , there is a place in wangara but don't know them probably OK and nearer but never been recommended .

I used the one in Wangara, had forgotten about Balcatta.
Was not impressed then found out from my mechanic mate that he wouldn't touch them with a barge pole.
He said should have use Total Fuel Injection Service, where he took my Landcruiser.

Had a Google at TFIS in balcatta only one comment about the company gave it half a star out of five won't repeat his comments.

Interesting, had a check of review myself didn't sound good.
I found them extremely busy but ran diagnostics on mine there and then no charge.
It is a 2 man business not a big outfit.
The one in Wangara rounded the heads on the fittings on the injector pipes on mine, used old pipes didn't replace.
They also have at least 2 bad reviews

Hey,

On the 1kz, you don't need to worry about the oil pickup, that is 1kd engine.
You must change out the glow plugs ASAP, or risk engine failure.
While in there a fresh set of injectors & check valve clearances.
Keep your air filter clean & the chip usually cause it to smoke too.
Keep your cooling system a1 clean, & free of instruction to air flow.

Street Scene Automotives, prindiville drive wangara

They work on all sorts of cars, clued up lads, they work with some diesel lads close by, may send you straight there, and theyre honest

They sorted out the issues on my recently purchased 08 d4d, dropped in new water pump as it was spiting coolant (105,000kms), sagging door was sorted by ripping inner skin of and found bottom bolts loose from previous works by hack mechanics. rear diff was binding so replaced with lsd diff oil= problem solvered, 7mm egr plate installed, original muffler binned and high flow installed as interim measure- =better low end pick less lag, Took it next door to the diesel specialist as they have diagnostic equipment as he noticed it was surging slightly, even i didnt notice that. Hooked up to the tester and it revealed fuel pump needs a part replaced next service. Moral of the story decent mechanics fair price job done right 1st time, Good luck mate

Booked in to United fuel injection now for injectors , they do specialise and do mining Prados on a daily basis, but can't say I've seen Street Scene but will look them up , seem fair guys who know what there doing just what we want.
