    Hi All,

    My 2008 D4D Prado with 230000ks recently started to bog down at traffic lights when the lights go green and i am about to accelerate.

    Issue is intermittent, & the prado has randomly turned off as well only in Park or neutral.

    We have changed the fuel-filter but still having the same issue.

    Anything else i should be looking at?
    Any help will be highly appreciated

    230,000km - still on original injectors? Nothing beats a cold start test to see where everything is at.

      Yes that is similar to when my injector ceased. - Only it was rough from then on. up to 80 kph

        Will do a cold start test tomorrow morning to see whats going on.
        There is no rattle that i can hear & engine is not running rough & no difference in performance.

        Was hoping someone said SCV valve as thats what i think it is.

          If you are on original injectors you are lucky. I'd suggest a change out etc etc.

          The Scv is the clear no.1 most common cause of stalling & drivability hesitation. So yes you are likely correct.

            Ok, so did the cold start test this morning.

            When i drove back home after warming up the engine it stalled while parked in the driveway.

            if you see the video called warm engine, you can see that the fuel pressure dropped from 35000 to 5000, 2000, 1000, 690 and then stalled.

            Does this still mean its the SCV as I thought i would see something happen in the fuel rail pressure instead of the fuel pressure section.

              The SCV current dropped to 600ma at one point when the engine got warm, and the fuel pressure also dropped, then SCV bounced back up to 1100 odd where it should be. A couple of those injectors pinged 2.9 which some say is a bit high.

                SCV bounced back because i started the Prado again while tech stream was running. Only thing different I had done before all these problem started is wash the engine bay with a water blaster.

                Maybe I'll buy a new SCV and see if theres any improvement after replacing it.
