I'm sure this question has been asked many times so please excuse me for adding the the pile..
I have a 120 series Diesel.. love it but I think it's low on power - especially at 100Km/hr etc.. to pass another car etc I really need to time it well and build up to speed etc. It's a diesel I know.. not expecting rocket like performance but.. and trying to fight the urge to trade in on a Ford Ranger ..! love my Prado and want to keep it so just wondering what can be done.
so the big question is .. if I were to do only one thing - Chip it or Do a 3" exhaust.. which would you do..? which yields better performance increases.? I know most manufacturers detune their card quite a bit but given the high Km (long running km's) I am concerned that mucking about with the engine mapping could blow it up etc.
does anyone wind up the turbo boost..viable..?
315,000 km on the clock.
Opinion welcome, data backed analysis even better if anyone knows of any.
