1kzte and 1kd

I just bought a 04 gx prado. And i need some help. I was told it is a 1kzte and the plates say it is but looking at the workshop manual i have the engine bay lay out says 1kd. Intercooler, aircon and fuel pump look like 1kzte but airbox, fusebox, radiator, oil sump and a few other things look like 1kd. Can anyone tell me what they might think it is.

It'd be the KZ-TE...I think we've got the same manuals , but unless its a grey import only the KZTE was available in Australia
A great engine mines done 320K with no problems , just keep the oil and filter changes up every 10K and make sure you maintain the cooling system..flushes and refills with approved coolant

EricT does yours have the 2 sump set up?

It's got 190000k's on it so i'll do the plugs and and injectors at 200

Gings ####, I read quite a lot about the glow plugs doing damage to the engines on these 1KZ-TE . Would have to be a bit unlucky I would have thought to actually damage the engine. The most that could happen is the tip come off. If lucky it spits it out the exhaust. If unlucky score the bore or stick under the valve. Mine (03) has done 320,000 and still running the original injectors and glow plugs. Mind you I'm a bit nervous!!!
Not sure if its just me but I'm sure its losing power, so thinking the injectors could be retired. Glow plugs at the same time. I've cleaned out the intake and fitted catch can. Could have rendered the EGR with a problem too (get my drift).
