    Hi
I have a 2007 Prado, manual diesel. It needs extra throttle going around corners and even on straight road while changing gears, otherwise it takes it sweet time to accelerate.
I have tried cleaning air filter and air intake sensor. Got 170k on the odo.

Anyone else had same issues with same series Prado?
Any help on what could be causing it, will be helpful.

    Thanks

    Injectors
    Scv
    Clean maf
    Clean map filter
Clean intake system & add 7mm flow reduction plate.

If this work is not done, it's well & truely overdue.

Then it will b like a new vehicle.

      Thanks #############.
Mechanic is saying it is clutch that need replacing. And approx cost of $1200 including parts and labour.

      Questions
      1) could it be clutch even if there is no gear stick slippage, should I take any second opinions?
      2) what is the average life expectancy on these clutch
      3) does the price look reasonable or should I shop around for it?

      Thanks

Put car in fourth gear and try to take off. If clutch is ok you will more than likely just stall the motor. If engine starts revving and you don't stall or remain stationary then more than likely you need a new clutch. Cheers Brian

Well lets hope the mechanic is right, pretty simple if that's what it is.

1 what is gear stick slippage?
          2 it varies but usually + or - 200,000k
          3 reasonable.
