Must admit I did have a few moments hesitation when I read about your current problems and possible O2 sensor issues. I did wonder if that could be traced back to your exhaust work?
I too also wondered this Trekkie. But then I thought it only became an issue when I started towing full time (as we are currently doing) and never had a problem prior to this. I'm also thinking that it is a fuel issue, as I have had to fill up from unreliable fuel sources (ie, old tanks at roadhouses). I'll be changing out the fuel filter soon, will keep you posted. If no different, then bye bye v6

The thing that made me think the two weren't connected was the length of time between them. Did you manage to get the sensors checked Craig?

The check engine light came on this evening. According to my OBDII software it's code P2241 Oxygen Sensor low voltage. I cleared the fault and it hasn't come back so far, although I haven't driven anywhere yet, just run the engine in the garage.

Checking online, the fault code description is " Front Air/Fuel Ratio (A/F) Sensor (Bank 2, Sensor 1) IP Line Low Voltage".

Obviously this has got me a bit worried

The problem was tracked down to one of the Oxygen Sensors connectors not being done up correctly (clicked in place) - all good for some time now

dropped it off the sarvo , question the manager over the heat sheild i requested to protect the clutch hose , he said
they'll wrap some header bandage around it with plastic cable ties , and told me if you see the plastic tie starting to
melt then worry about it, ? , makes sense , but hey im not in the muffler game so , I walked away and left my
pride and joy in his hands.. when i hand him the key he said to me , prado extractors with a 2 1/2" sytem , and a custom y pipe

the pacies are down to $410 with gaskets on ebay , some venders claiming less, but i get over 12 months warranty on their work and parts,
so I'm happy with that,, he told me I'm not the first V6 they have done , but my request for the y pipe, was a surprise to him..

i am anal about my rig , and dont like others touching it let alone driving it , but this is a test case for me ....

hope it goes as requested ,,, pick it up in 16 hrs and 8 mins.. and counting, flexi tomorrow so i will just happen to drop in around 12 for a sticky beak. and see how its progressing... When i got the quote , i evan told the manager , i dont care if it the job costs $ 200 more but I dont want cheap boxes used , he re asured me for now the redback mufflers the run are aussie made, but 2 yrs time ,,, it will all be " made in china".. and quality to boot ... lol,, he seems pretty confident, but he is in the game , i look at my rig as if it was a ferrari, he just sees a job?

hope their rep doesnt disappoint me... 16 hrs to go , wont sleep tonight, cheers mate

                              Butane,

Had a new exhaust fitted back from the extractors for my 150 Petrol.

2.5 inch pipe (any bigger is too much), a small straight through muffler to replace the monster one, and a small resonator just back from the rear. A bit more noise under heavy acceleration, but mid range acceleration is much better.

Easier towing the van, up some hills after the exhaust change, the Prado did not kick down as low a gear as before.

Put the foot down on a country road (without the van) and the Prado takes off.

$1,000- for the stainless system, fitted in Taren Point.

can i ask what the difference with the y pipe will do. is it a performance thing or clearance mod?
keen to hear how it goes, $1000 for all that sounds like a great deal and if it all goes well he might have some more prado's to do
