Leaking Water Pump

Hi All
I have just discovered that I have a slow leak coming from the water pump on my 120 series v6. One drip every two minutes. Car has done 134000km.

I was after feedback on -
1. Are the water pumps off ebay ok???
2. Does repco sell a decent water pump and at what price???
3. what would the price of toyota water pump be???

I had mine replaced a month or so ago. On the D4D it is a major job time wise as the pump is behind the timing belt. About a $1k job I think they said. Can't help you with aftermarket but mine was covered by extended warranty. The pump was barely weeping (wiped down after service and a slight stain within a week) so I am happy it was picked up and replaced promptly.

Matt - not sure if this is an endemic issue but my 2009 G120 series diesel's warranty runs out the end of this month so I took it to Toyota for a checkup. They found a water leak in the water pump and replaced it under warranty. They also detected a worn rack end and replaced that under warranty as well.

I went to repco for the water pump $450, No thanks

Toyota was only $207, I was quite suprised. So I ordered it straight away just in case they got it wrong.

Try ebay. When I had my previous toyota, I used to order timing belt kits and get the pump packaged in for a very good price. They were aftermarket pumps made by GMB.

Well 5 hours later and the water pump has been replaced.

Not surprised by Toyota pump being 1/2 price of repco. I got a quote a few years back from repco for a cressida timing belt. They wanted $140, genuine Toyota was $70. Have owned a lot of toyotas and always found their parts prices quite reasonable compared to other makes. Reckon repco buys their parts from Toyota? Jurgs
