Rough initial crank on cold mornings

Having this on/off symptom where on some cold mornings the very first engine crank is very rough ( sounds like someone clearing his throat) and lasts for 1/2 a sec at most. Seems it never does it on warmer days. also after the first startup of the day it would never happen again during the course of that day.
Could this be an oil issue? Or injectors? Someone mentioned head gasket.....
If anyone has come across this would be great to shed some light on this.

i had this problem over 10 000km
then changed my oil viscosity,
no more noise.

Had my suspicions about the oil as well.
Can you tell me the grade of oil you are using now and whether it's a synthetic oil or not?
