Petrol V6 manual gear change issues

Hi, I'm new to the site, just bought a 2004 4 ltr petrol prado with a 5 speed manual. I'm finding It a little annoying changing gears because the revs dont drop straight away when I take my foot of the accelerator and depress the clutch to change gears. The tacho hangs around 3000 rpm for a second and messes up my gear change. Is there any mods that can be done to make the revs drop as soon as I take my foot off the accelerator?

Toyota will state that this is normal.
Try cleaning the MAF sensor first.
