Hi all. Can anyone tell me if this is normal or not. I recently purchased an 07 GXL v6 Manual Prado and when changing gears the engine seems to rev on for a moment rather than drop of quickly when putting the clutch in and decelerating. I am almost getting used to it now but don't believe this can be doing any good to the clutch and it just doesn't feel right. Love everything else about the car .

Re: V6 Engine Revving on during gear changes
When I was looking at Prados I test drove a few manuals and they all did this. Don't know why and like you I was quite surprised by it. Its almost like you push the clutch without taking your foot off the accellerator isn't it.
I'd say it's normal though as they all did it. Might help for smoother take up between gear shifts. Help keep the engine on the boil.
Doesn't bother me anymore though as I settled on an auto.2003 V6, Auto, GXL, Factory Bullbar, Rhino Roofbars, Bosch and Hella spotties, Cooper AT3, Bilstein shocks, Ironman awning, GME UHF, MaxTrax.

My work 5 speed V6 Rodeo does the same, but our V8 t/dsl troopy doesn't. Neither does my 98 V6 Prado.Dave
