Thats what I have been told in the past. If the vehicle isnt salary sacrificed they cannot offer fleet pricing.

One more thing, a toyota saleman told me today that heavy discounting was almost as good as fleet pricing anyway.
Sorry but that is wrong. The company I work for will supply us with an eligibility letter for fleet discount without the need to salary sacrifice.

There are people working in my office that have used this to obtain fleet discount price on a range of new vehicles that they have paid for without salary sacrificing.

        Fleet

The discount for fleet applies if your company is registered for an employee package discount. How you pay for it is irrelevant as long as you can get a letter saying it is part of your package.
The rebate from Toyota for an employee package is $500.00 therefor that is the extra discount we can play with..Recommended discount is $2500.... so yes everyone gets more of a discount than that.
Some companys and there contractors get Gold Fleet...Rebate of $1200 and a reccommended discount of $4500.....So yes again most get more than that.
If you are not one of the above you cannot claim the extra rebate, it does not matter who you buy it from ie fleet or retail sales consultant.

So Molly (I think thats your name, apologies otherwise) how does that explain 8 -10k discounts on a VX Prado currently being offered ?

            Discounts

Thats up to the dealer to decide what level of margin to give away, ie all or nothing.....whether they choose to go into holdback as well...
One thing is for sure, it certainly explains why some customers are waiting so long for thier cars. I imagine if all the gross was given away on one deal and half the gross on another, which one would a bank manager want you to deliver 1st.

Correct, the company I work for falls into the gold fleet category.

Thanks Grandeman. Home last night after an 11 hour "test drive" from Ipswich. I absolutely love this car, it makes me think everything does happen for a reason. It also came with GME 3440, Bullbar & Hella Lights. All stuff I would have bought myself. It probably saved my life last night as a truck swerved into my lane to avoid some large debris (wet road) while overtaking an Excel up a hill on the New England Highway. It powered past the Excel into the far lane while going over seperate pieces of beer carton sized debris. I can still see the corner of its steel bull bar now.

My advice before purchasing is to get online. Search "new cars for sale" and ring places like privatefleetsales.com.au and mr.negotiator.com.au. Both these places managed to get me pricing similiar to that of my mate at Toyota.

That way you avoid needing to know someone. I knew I had to wait, but who cares when your saving over ten grand?

Alternately you can buy one of the ten or so 2005 4.2L Turbo Diesel Saharas that are available around Oz at the moment and be just as happy. Your wife will love the moonroof, the kids will love the DVD. It has good fuel economy, power plus, less issues with "bad fuel" due to pre EuroIV guidelines and it's just generally a bloody nice car all round.

But alas, I ain't buying any new vehicles any time soon.

Im 99.99999999% sure if not 100% sure that the July build was booked out in june.So all orders for July will be made for the August build which will cover you.All of the toyota orders are sent to Japan on the first friday of each month hence last friday the 6th of july but toyota has extended this period this month because the july month (end of finacial year was extremely busy) and it took some time for dealerships to get the june orders together.

So i have no doubt you will get the August update. If you are unsure have a chat to your dealer.if you have ordered an auto petrol there are some still floating around that will most likely become a real bargain when the new one is released (run out model)but if you have ordered a diesel manual or auto then it doesnt even exist yet.

I have left the spec form at work and will try and upload on here some how will most likely need someones help but we will get there. An other thing o just though of is that with the new model for diesel or petrol AUTO ONLY you can either the choice of option pack 1 or option pack 2 >option 1 is side curtain airbags (which is available for manual) and option 2 includes vehcle stabilty control (auto only).

You might find that you dealer knows nothing about the update model as yet for its only last Fridays news.I rang toyota head office to find out what future plans for prado so this how i found out and i informed my dealer who new nothing aswell.

                              Hope this helps Cheers Rob

ps:My order went in yesterday aswell with August build on the contract
what bout the head unit? are they bluetooth compatible on the GX model?

                              • Are there any left in the country? I would think any new VX ordered now would be the new spec model.[/quote]

There were a few in the new car section of www.carsales.com.au

One was even a 2006 model that was still apparently brand new in stock. So there must some somewhere. I find it hard to believe that a car that has been on sale since 2003 would be completely out of stock.

                                Regards
                                Dan
