August Build and future builds delayed 2007

Good question. Yes I have confirmation both in email form and on the online tracking system that mine will be the new spec. I would have cancelled, had it not been. (My dealer gave me the option when he notified me of the delay.)

AHH great stuff definetly worth the wait in my opinion.When did your tracking numbers arrive from dealer.How many weeks after you signed contract.I bought mine 3 weeks ago but no numbers as yet

I got my tracking codes only last week. But my salesguy had not heard about them before and I only asked last week after I had seen them mentioned on this site. Hence it is difficult to say how long it actually takes.
Right now mine only says the following:

:: New Model Prado
Congratulations on the purchase of your new Prado. Toyota Australia is proud to launch this new model in September 2007 .
We will make every endeavour to deliver your brand new Prado as soon as possible after the launch date.
After the launch date each time you log on to this web tracking facility you will be able to see the estimated date when you can pick up your brand new vehicle

I saw a light globe just the other day!! Wow, you guy's just won't believe how good they are! However... you need something called "electricity" to light them up???? The other day... I saw this horseless carriage! Man I thought it was aliens and......

Spoke to my dealer just now. Seems that online tracking has not been "set up" for Western Australians. Eastern States only. DAMN YOU!! . Dealers can use the online tracking here in WA but we, the poor plebian public cannot. Currently there is no information (so they say) on when or if we will be getting it.

Interestingly, my dealer seemed to have no knowledge of the August build delays. Instead, saying that the new spec Prado's weren't ever going to be built until September anyhow. Hrmmmmmm. He's getting back to me after I mentioned that I read several reports on the web concerning the the initial delay with the huge July build and the earthquake in Japan.

I'm off to install new candles in my wagon lights.

Well we have all seen the pdf that was put out re the august spec upgrade. It says in black and white that it will happen from august onwards. Dont know about the earthquake delay though. One dealer in sydney assured me that all orders were still on track with no delays due to earthquakes etc.

I am currently in the process of quotes for a VX D4D. Hope to get one near the $60,000 mark after recommendations on this forum for certain dealers. Wish me luck.

WA Who?

The reason WA has different rules and info is that TMCA has no control over what goes on in that state. The tracking system is run by TMCA and not the importer that WA uses. We (Being the rest Aust) cannot see what WA dealers have in stock as they don't use SAP (TMCA online system where we locate cars)......Strange I know but WA made the choice along time ago.

Hi Salesgirl, can you tell me if SA falls under WA jurisdiction or do they come under the east coast wing?
